Forty-five minutes. Five numbers that tell you where your operations stand.
The Operations Review is a 45-minute call with me, at no cost. You leave with a measurement of where your operations sit today — and a written page inside 24 hours.
45 minutes, at no cost. No preparation needed — bring what you know. Not knowing a number is useful information in itself.
What we measure.
Each reading is a number about your own company. For each one I'm after two things: the number, and whether you knew it before I asked. Not knowing is often the more useful finding.
-
01Month-close.
How many days pass between month-end and closed numbers you'd put in front of your board. It tells you how much of each month you're running on last month's picture.
-
02Diligence retrieval.
How long it takes to produce your cap table, trailing-twelve-month P&L, contracts over $50K, and employment agreements. It tells you what a data-room request would cost you in founder time.
-
03Bus factor.
How much of how the company runs lives in documentation, and how much lives in one person's head. Measured as documentation, not headcount.
-
04Manual hops, lead to cash.
How many times a person touches a deal between first contact and cash in the bank — and how many of those touches are someone reconciling two systems that should already agree.
-
05Metric computability.
How quickly you can produce CAC, net revenue retention, and Burn Multiple on demand. It tells you whether your metrics come from your systems, or from a spreadsheet that gets rebuilt every time someone asks.
Five numbers, a band for each, and a page you can keep.
You'll get the written summary within 24 hours. The reference points are the systems I've built, not an industry benchmark — I'll tell you what the working number was in the companies I've done this in, and what the gap means operationally.
There's no proposal attached and no follow-up sequence. If the numbers say you're in good shape, that's the finding.
A measurement, not a verification.
Forty-five minutes gets you a measurement — where your operations sit across five readings, what's most likely to break first, and what to do about it. That's built from what you tell me.
Grading your systems from the source data rather than the summary is a separate piece of work. Plenty of people don't need it.
Everything here is based on what you told me in the session, benchmarked against systems I've built before. It hasn't been verified against your data.
Book the call.
I take a limited number of these each week so I can write each summary properly.
